Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 4:47PM PCI GOOD RELATIONS CONFERENCE takes place on Saturday 18 February in Carnmoney Presbyterian Church, Newtownabbey from 9.30am-1.30pm. It is open to everybody. It includes the following seminars: Building better relations with loyalist communities, ethnic minorities, people from different religious backgrounds and with those from other political backgrounds. A MEETING OF SESSION will take place on Monday 20 February 2012 at 7.30pm in the Committee Room of the Main Hall.
A COMMUNION SERVICE will take place in the church on Ash Wednesday, 22 February at 7.00pm.
ROAD TRIP TRAINING EVENT organised by PCI Youth and Children’s Ministry Team. Free training for all youth and children’s leaders will be held on Tuesday 28 February 2012 in 1st Holywood Presbyterian Church, 7.30-10.00pm. For further information go to www.pciyac.org/roadtrip.
THE FILM CLUB (Edward McKenzie’s Licentiate Project): The next film, to be shown on Thursday 23rd February at 7.00pm, will be ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ based on the novel by CS Lewis. Members of the congregation (young and not so young!) together with friends and family are invited to come along to enjoy the film, followed by discussion. As the film is a little longer than usual (143 mins) we will begin promptly!
THE BOYS’ BRIGADE thanks all those who supported their ‘Coffee and Coppers’ event last Saturday. The amount raised was £745 which will be split three ways amongsts the BB School in Uganda, Children’s Special Service Mission, and The Life Change Centre in Windhoek, Namibia.
MARIE CURIE TREK CAMBODIA – The Fundraising cinema night on 1 February raised £902. A further £82 was collected by children of the Sunday Children’s Group. Marion Allen is most appreciative of the generosity and support and extends her thanks to all.
USED POSTAGE STAMPS: The Women’s Friendship Group ask that you please place your used postage stamps in the box provided in the Anderson Hall.
MUSICAL EVENING Starring Festival Brass and guests With Conductor Alan Corry Will be held on Friday 2 March 2012 at 8.00pm in the Church Hall. The concert is organised by the Wider World Group and Tickets (£10) are available from the group (07919 612717), Revive Bookshop, Comber (9187 8990) or the Church Office
All proceeds will support overseas mission work
BREAD AND CHEESE LUNCH The annual Bread and Cheese Lunch will take place on Sunday 26th February 2012 after the Morning Service. Everyone is cordially invited. Proceeds will go to Wider World Group Mission projects. Your support will be greatly appreciated!
BIBLE SCHOOL Why not join us as we systematically study the Bible on Wednesday evenings at the Manse at 7.30pm. The theme this season is ‘Christ is enough’ and we are studying the letter to the Hebrews.
